About Rosie Fiallo
Rosie Fiallo has expertise in public sector communications and marketing as well as extensive experience in mainstream media. Rosie develops strategic marketing and communications plans, creates content and manages crisis communications and media relationships for Oregon’s largest school district. She has extensive experience as an anchor, reporter, producer, writer and contributor for broadcast news operations including CNN, PBS Newshour and network affiliates in Atlanta, Portland and Las Vegas. She is bi-lingual and bi-cultural.
Rosie launched FialloShoop Communications with her husband Larry Shoop in 2016 while maintaining her role as Communications Manager for Portland Public Schools (PPS). At PPS Rosie is responsible for district-wide employee communications for 7,500 employees and school marketing for 90+ schools and programs serving nearly 50,000 students. She creates multi-media campaigns to educate students, parents and the general public about the curriculum, programs and staff at PPS. She coordinates with media reporters and producers regarding daily news coverage, school and district-wide issues and crisis communications, and develops media plans for high profile district events. Rosie also creates video, web and social media content.
Prior to her current role, Rosie was co-host and writer for an educational Spanish language TV program for PPS and has been a longtime advocate and voice for the underserved Hispanic community within the school district.
Rosie also had a 25-year career in mainstream media working for television and radio stations across the country. She has covered national political conventions, state legislatures and a multitude of topics and issues as a general assignment reporter, anchor, writer, producer and contributor for news outlets ranging from CNN to PBS Newshour to network affiliates in major US markets.
